I can't imagine what that must be like, to be so far away from the person you love. I hope I'm never in that situation. I don't know much about you (yet), but I do think you seem to be a strong person, so I hope you'll be able to get through it okay.
American Beauty is a really powerful film. It's the kind of movie where you don't realize until the credits start rolling that you were holding your breath the whole time. And I think it captures perfectly how everything isn't as it seems. The tagline is so true -- look closer. It reminds me of my neighborhood in a lot of ways.
