Homeward Bound
Mar. 21st, 2003 08:46 amI'm going home for break starting today (like most of you didn't already know that).
While I'm at home, I'll be on 26.4 kbps dialup. Which means that it takes me forever and a day to get anything done. So, I'm switching my friends layout to a lynx format layout and using, for the first time in my life, a default view. Of course, it won't matter much to all of you, since I only left out syn_feeds and communities. :)
Also, I will be mostly unavailable during these times (compared to how I normally am). If you want to call me, you can do so using the number in the post at http://www.livejournal.com/users/crschmidt/163259.html?usescheme=lynx . (use the number for HOME, obviously).
Email can be sent to my @lj.com email address, which I will be checking as often as possible. Contact on AIM will be through ChrisTheillini.
I'm going to miss you all. I really do love the community here: I love being able to read every update you make. And I'm going to miss out on some of that over break. I'm going to miss out on fun IRC conversations, I'm going to miss out on a lot of things. It's sad.
I know there wa... oh! right. Peanut/grey-eyed/any of the files I'm hosting for you. There has been a rumor going around of some kind of firewall blocking all incoming ports. However, I have recieved no information on this phenomenon, so I'm not sure what the plan actually is. As such, access to my webserver may die at some point randomly during the week.
If this should happen, there is NOTHING I can do about it. I will work as hard as I can to correct the situation, but given my connection and computing resources at home, I will probably not be able to change anything. My remote connection to my computer will be broken first if this happens, so I would lose access to that.
I don't know how much I'll be writing or commenting, but I'll try to read as much as I can. I'm going to miss all you guys.
Have a great week. I'll be back a week from Sunday.
