http://peanut.sytes.net/webcam.php is back. It's running off the quickcam for now until I get my other camera running.

My address is:

0355 Allen Hall
1005 S. Gregory Drive
Urbana, IL 61801

So. Send me stuff.

Lesse.

New phone number too: 217-332-3349

That's not so hard to remember, I suppose.

Let's see.

Still working on clearing my hard drive out so I can install linux. I need to figure out how to get Microsoft outlook emails out so I can import them into a mail client. Anyone have any ideas on how to do that well?

when i backup/move stuff from outlook, i just do a file>import/export>"export to a file"

but depending on which program you will be using, you might need to export to a different file format..

you probably knew all of this already. tra la.

Have you been able to transfer that to a Linux mail client of any kind? i'm not sure what's even out there in terms of outlook-like programs.

I'd really prefer not to lose the 20,000 mail messages I'd have saved, and the organization might be nice too.

Try Ximian Evolution for this. It's one of those overbloated multifunctional clients like you get off on, and here's the workaround to export your mail (are you aware of the fact that it's proprietary after MSOE4?):

Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express Users: Microsoft Outlook, and versions of Outlook Express after version 4, use proprietary formats that Ximian Evolution cannot read or import. For contacts, you may have to email them to yourself and import them that way. For email, there is a simpler workaround:

1. While using Windows, import the files into Mozilla Mail (or another mailer, such as Netscape or Eudora, that uses the standard mbox format).

2. Copy the files to the system or partition you use for Ximian Evolution.

3. Use the Ximian Evolution import tool to import the files. There's more information about why this works, and how, at the Ximian support website.

This was taken verbatim from
file:///usr/share/gnome/help/evolution/C/usage-mail-organize.html on my machine if you'd like to look through your documentation in detail.
