Comment here with your name and I'll tell you something I adore (or at least mildly like) about you. Afterwards, copy and paste this into your own journal.

Alternatively:
[Poll #476864]

Or both.

I swear that I will never understand why these things ask for names. You just copied the wording from someone else who did this without actually thinking, didn't you? Are they an elaborate attempt at compiling a list of people who are potential victims of identity theft? "If you want me to say something nifty about you, just comment here with your full legal name, date of birth, social security number, mother's maiden name and favourite colour!"

Or possibly they're an attempt to write a book of baby names without going to the trouble of doing proper market research? Why bother actually compiling a list of names when you can trawl through LiveJournal memes and find them that way?

Or possibly it's a method of generating random numbers, as used by some advanced form of inteligence, who look through all the names, perform some wort of perverse numerological analysis on all the names that are posted, and end up with a random number between 0 and 1.

Or possibly there are some things that humanity is just not meant to know, and the reason for this will forever remain a mystery.

The reason I went with it is because I know my friends list is full of smartasses. I know this full well, and recognized, before posting, the fact that asking for names from a group of people who I know well enough to comment about was utterly pointless, and would do nothing to teach me anything about their actual names - but it would let me see how people respond to an utterly ridiculous prompt.

There are, also, some people whose names I don't know. However, the liklihood that these people will actually comment with their names is relatively slim, so it's pretty pointless to ask for them.

Well I hope that my smart-assed reply to your utterly ridiculous prompt lived up to your expectations. And since you seem to be actually insisting on names for this, I have a few going spare here:

Persephone
Jim
Rameses
Georgina
Abigail
Luke
Her Excellence The Fifth Duchess of Journalshire

Now, technically you might wish to point out that none of these are actually my name. In some ways, this would be a fair point, but they could be. In fact, as soon as I find a regular heptahedron to turn into a D7, I shall assign one of these names to myself at random and change my name by deed poll. Is that sufficient for your needs?

Cynic. That's basically all I need to say, because it's the most important part of your personality in your relationship with me, and it helps me in so many ways. you are the cynical yang to my overenergetic yin.
