London Bombings

Similarly to the 9/11 attacks, it seems that the importance of the London attacks didn't hit me until several hours after they happened. For 9/11, it was when I first heard "The towers are completely gone." For London, it was seeing all the posts on my friends page calling out to make sure people were okay.

My heart goes out to all of you, and especially to all those caught in the blasts.

My mind right now is on my friends in the London area, but I do have one thing that's buoying my spirit in that regard right now: How many people on LiveJournal have to get up and get to work at 9 in the morning?

It's more of a statement that most of my friends list isn't "Day Job" type people: they work nights, or telecommute, or do contract work, or whatever.

It's also a joke: A little bit of humor in dark times is oftne the way to make it through.

Well, seeing as we don't have a subway in my city and the buses don't even run 24 hours or on Sundays and not many people use it, you are better off bombing Walmart here than public transit.

That dole is keeping my belly warm, spank you. :p A little overworked from the fiber supplements, mind you, but pretty warm. I keep hoping we'll get some fine grain alcohol in the next batch, but so far, I be out o' luck. Boo.
