When I was in about 5th grade, we got a dog. He was a mutt that someone had thrown out of a car.

He was a "penguin" dog: white belly, black back+legs. My grandfather used to ask why we din't just call him "Blackie".

He was named Scamper. We had a movie about penguins, the main character was named Scamper.

That was a long time ago.
