So. Tired.
Jul. 18th, 2005 09:11 amParty this weekend went well. Started slow, as they always do, but
tetron,
xxv and girlfriend,
lillabellefp and boyfriend,
ursamajor,
nostrademons and the four communistas all had a good time. I enjoyed it immensely, and look forward to seeing you all again sometime. (And I feel like I"m forgetting someone, so yell at me for it at some point, eh?)
We have excellent patio furniture from Target now. It's really pretty. I like it.
Sunday, woke up early, went to MIT Swapfest with Jess, where we met up with AaronSw and Xavier/Tina again. Aaron came back to the commune and met the communistas and got a tour of the house. While at the Swapfest, Aaron introduced me to Seth Finkelstein.
Watching the two of them interact was an interesting example of cat and mouse with the eyes, probably a result of bringing two social recluses into close contact. (I'm not sure if Seth falls into this category, but I'm pretty sure Aaron would say that he does.)
I also learned that there are musical instruments at the Kendall T stop. Chimes, a gong of some kind, and a giant sheet of metal that you can move back and forth with levers on the walls at the stop.
I also learned that the oldest still standing building at Harvard was built in the 1750s. (Can't remember which one, and I may have the wrong date.)
Did a bunch of unpacking: moved from the "unpack and put everything away" technique to the "get everything out of damn boxes" technique. Since all of the boxes I unpacked were about 1/4 full, it created a feeling of being a lot more unpacked, and there's less to manuver around to get stuff unpacked now. This pleases me.
All in all, a pretty great weekend, although I'm completely exhausted now. Woke up at 5:30 this morning, was on the road by 6, in the office by 7.
So. tired.
