Comment here with your name and I'll tell you something I adore (or at least mildly like) about you. Afterwards, copy and paste this into your own journal.
Based on a recent post after a mimosa, I'd have to say the thing I find most adorable about you is the fact that you are even more of a lightweight than I am.
kristan is emo, to the point of obsession, and it's adorable. Whether she's claiming that she doesn't deserve food with a grin tweaking the corners of her mouth, or watching Gilmore Girls and associating with Paris "I'm not Good Enough For General Hospital", it pervades her life despite the fact that 90% of the time she doesn't mean it in the slightest anymore.
nyxie is heartwarming. There's not a bone of evil in her body, and she lets you know it: it's impossible to feel put out by her, because she makes you feel welcome without trying.
Sarah doesn't care what other people think about her, which is important in a world where so much is all about that. She can do what she likes, and doesn't mind the opinions of others for it, because she believes enough in herself to know that sometimes you just need to scream KETCHUP in a room full of people.
I swear that I will never understand why these things ask for names. You just copied the wording from someone else who did this without actually thinking, didn't you? Are they an elaborate attempt at compiling a list of people who are potential victims of identity theft? "If you want me to say something nifty about you, just comment here with your full legal name, date of birth, social security number, mother's maiden name and favourite colour!"
Or possibly they're an attempt to write a book of baby names without going to the trouble of doing proper market research? Why bother actually compiling a list of names when you can trawl through LiveJournal memes and find them that way?
Or possibly it's a method of generating random numbers, as used by some advanced form of inteligence, who look through all the names, perform some wort of perverse numerological analysis on all the names that are posted, and end up with a random number between 0 and 1.
Or possibly there are some things that humanity is just not meant to know, and the reason for this will forever remain a mystery.
The reason I went with it is because I know my friends list is full of smartasses. I know this full well, and recognized, before posting, the fact that asking for names from a group of people who I know well enough to comment about was utterly pointless, and would do nothing to teach me anything about their actual names - but it would let me see how people respond to an utterly ridiculous prompt.
There are, also, some people whose names I don't know. However, the liklihood that these people will actually comment with their names is relatively slim, so it's pretty pointless to ask for them.
You're comfortable enough with yourself to keep me at arm's length, something that I have to respect a hell of a lot. Because I'm such a cuddlewhore, I tend to cross personal boundaries really easily, and whenever we hung out, you were able to keep me at a comfortable distance, which I appreciated.
Willing to admit he doesn't always know what's going on. It's an impressive quality, and one I've seen you demonstrate more than once, and something I can truly appreciate.
"Don't fuck with me, or you'll regret it." The take no shit way of going about things is a Pez characteristic, and a useful one. She can get her way, against the most hardass person trying to get in her way.
That's not your name, but I love you, so I'll answer anyway.
You're the most openhearted person in the world. No matter what happens, you care. That's the biggest thign I think of when I think Ashley: it doesn't matter who you are, she gives a Moo about you.
You're true to who you are. Even thought you take a lot of shit for your beliefs and positions sometimes, you stick ot them, and I can respect that, even if I disagree with you.
You're in a relationship and sticking to it despite a lot of problems along the way, and it's so wonderful to see that life isn't always perfect, but you can make it work anyway.
I like your writing. It's why I've kept you on my friends page, despite completely changing who I am and whose journals I read: I stop to read every entry you write, because I love reading your stuff that much.
You believe in fate in a way that's similar to what I do: Although you have desires, and do your best to make them happen, occasionally you just let life go with the flow and don't fight against it, and let it take you where it will. I like that.
You're brave. You've done a lot of things with your life that you weren't sure if you could do, how they would work out for you, etc. and you've come out better for them, and I admire that.
You're always willing to lend an ear if someone has a problem. You don't try to correct them, or to tell them they're wrong, you just hold them and tell them it'll be okay, and that's wonderful to have every now and then.
You're adorable in your preperations for your marriage, which I really wish I could come to. You're adorable in pretty much everything you do, really: you bring a certain enthusiasm to life that you don't see in a lot of places.
You're a linguist geek, something that there may be many of in this world, but are few of on my friends page. The collection of stuff on Klingon or other similarly esoteric linguistic links is what I find most interesting about you, and your interest in those topics.
